(Hat tip to the wonderful Matas Petrikas for inspiring this post. He did it much better than I did.)
2013, a year that I won't forget:
I took 58 flights taking me to Berlin, New York, Cannes, San Francisco, LA, Tahoe, Austin, Brussels, Bruges, Sofia and Amsterdam. I was travelling or away from home for 114 days.
I didn't get enough sleep.
I lost 60lbs in under 6 months (over 27kg or 4¼ stone). I finished Couch To 5K and my first parkrun in 27m 50s. I rejoined the gym. I walked a lot more (but my Fitbit broke). I reduced my net daily calorie intake to 1400 and recorded every single thing I ate and drank for quite a long time.
I lost my spark, then re-ignited it.
I found out my MBTI personality type was ENFP, which explained a lot. I learnt a great deal about my strengths and weaknesses with the help of a wonderful leadership coach.
I did way too much introspection.
My youngest son Freddie had his first birthday. My eldest son Joshua started school. My wife Kate started a new business (and I'm so proud of her for having the guts to do it). And we both moved to a bigger house, still in the suburbs.
Oh and I nearly forgot... I hung out with Snoop Dogg.
2014 is going to be a great year.
